In today's pandemic scenario, wearing masks has become the new normal. But while all of us know the importance of wearing masks, it is also imperative that we understand that disposing of masks safely is also just as important.

Unsafe disposal of masks causes land pollution. Also, they cause blockages in sewage systems and increase the risk of infection for those who come in contact with unsafely disposed masks!

So why not take about 5 extra seconds and dispose off the masks safely, rather than throwing them away irresponsibly? The only thing that you need to do is remove the mask you need to discard, and simply throw it in the dustbin with recyclables such as cans, or plastic! If you can, spray a bit of sanitizer on the mask before disposing of it so those who handle the waste can be protected.

Simple enough isn't it. So the next time you or those around you dispose masks, please make sure that you do so responsibly!
